Ginko Launches Clinician-backed AI Parenting Apps

Ginko, founded by Larissa May and Raghu Kiran as MD, has launched an AI parenting platform for families with children aged 6 to 14. According to the founders, this is the first clinician-backed AI parenting app that helps families manage screen time, social media usage, and online safety of their children.
It has been identified that more than 500 screen conflicts are encountered annually. Still, most pediatricians don’t put much focus on technology use in routine consultations with the parent.
The launch of the platform was introduced via a LinkedIn post from Ginko’s leadership team, including Maximillian Kirchoff, CTO, who wrote, “Launch Day: The Future of Parenting in the Digital Era is Here! Our team just launched Ginko – the first clinician-backed AI platform for parenting in the digital era.”
Ginko Key Features of the Platform
Ginko’s app is designed to offer parents 24/7 access to personalized and evidence-based support. For instance, the software offers real time insights into the playbooks, emerging trends, new apps and games, and much more.
The company claims that their approach is adopted on clinical oversight, in which the pediatricians and psychiatrists have played a significant role in designing and shaping the entire platform. Ginko is HIPAA-compliant software that has been developed while ensuring input from the clinical advisory board. The goal of the founder behind building the app is “from screen fear to screen freedom” by offering trusted resources.
Larissa May wrote in her LinkedIn article, “Parents fighting 500+ screen battles yearly with their kids. Turning to Google and ChatGPT for advice they couldn’t trust. 77% of pediatricians do not even address screen time. An entire generation raising digital natives without a manual.”
May also founded #HalfTheStory, a nonprofit entity that focuses on improving the relationship of young people with technology. Even before launching Ginko, May has worked on brand-building for firms like Otherland and Kin Euphorics.
May posted, reflecting on the launch, “Our vision is to move every family from screen fear to screen freedom. This fall, I’m hitting the road to shake hands with our first 1,000 customers. Because this isn’t just a product launch – it’s a movement, and this is just the beginning.”
Ginko is available for free download with additional features that can be unlocked by users after paying some charges. The platform also includes resources for the families raising children with special needs, including autism, ADHD, and more. The platform is exclusively designed to assist parents in setting up a safer technology environment while managing online risks and lowering the chances of conflicts.
