The leading AI startup Anthropic has recently raised $13 billion in its Series F funding. The investment has contributed significantly to helping the company mark a post-money valuation of $183 billion

The last funding round was headed by ICONIQ with participation from Fidelity Management & Research and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Qatar Investment Authority, Blackstone, and Coatue were among other notable investors.

According to reports, Anthropic’s annual revenue run rate has increased from $1 billion to more than $5 billion within nine months. The company is currently serving more than 300,000 business customers with many large accounts that pay over $100,000 every year. The company has also experienced a sevenfold growth in the last year.

The latest investments from the Series F funding round are planned to be used for implementing AI safety research and scaling up the operations to satisfy growing enterprise demand.

Claude Code, an AI tool from Anthropic, has been a major contributor to the success of the firm. The tool alone is generating more than $500 million every year, with a significant increase in the number of users since launch. The huge success of this tool has also been highly helpful for the firm to attract big investments and plan for future expansion.

Despite the huge spending in the tech industry, investors are still heavily interested in AI start-ups. For instance, US start-up funding has already jumped 75.6% in H1 2025, mostly driven by the AI force.
