India AI Imapct Summit 2026

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is scheduled to be hosted there in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, between 16-20 February as part of this increasing global involvement. It will be the first global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. With the increase in geopolitical uncertainty and technology competition across the globe, India is putting itself at the centre of the global artificial intelligence debate.

The summit will be the first, but not the last, among the international AI summits in past events in the United Kingdom, France, South Korea and Rwanda, which were attended by PM Narendra Modi. As compared to previous meetings where chief interests were on AI safety and governance, the summit in India would have a high emphasis on the applicability of AI, especially in developing economies.

Artificial intelligence is quickly forming the world order, as nowadays machines do the tasks that once demanded human intellect, and the cost of AI infrastructure in the world is estimated to reach close to 3 trillion by 2029. But this growth to broad socio-economic benefits is hard to translate. With its emphasis on “Impact”, the AI Summit 2026 in India becomes a strategic move towards implementation, tangible results and large-scale implementation, especially in the Global South, and enhances the cooperation of governments, industry, academia, and civil society.

Goals and Framework of Summit

The Summit will illuminate how AI is transforming the major industries that include healthcare, agriculture, education and energy/climate, with emphasis on accessibility, innovation that is ethically guided and inclusive development. It is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Modi, who sees technology as a means of broad-based empowerment.

The event will be hosted through the IndiaAI Mission spearheaded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), which is the heart of the national AI strategy of India.

The Three Sutras of the Guide to the Peak:

India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is based on a set of three principles, known as Sutras, that will guide the global cooperation on AI:

People: Driving AI that is human-centric, protecting rights, embodying trust, and enhancing access to services, as well as equitable benefits.

Planet: The development of environmentally friendly AI based on energy-efficient systems, responsible use of resources and climate-orientated applications.

Progress: Achieving inclusive economic and technological development by being innovative, building capacity, and improving productivity.

The Seven Chakras of AI Impact:

The agenda of the Summit is also organised in regard to seven thematic pillars, or Chakras, which describe areas of global concern that should be the focus of action:

Human Capital: Training an inclusive workforce by fair AI skilling and reskilling.

Social Empowerment Inclusion: Creating AI systems that empower all communities and include them.

Safe and Trusted AI: Constructing open, responsible, and global trusted AI systems.

Science: Hastening breakthroughs to the frontiers and turning them into common global advancement.

Resilience, Innovation, and Efficiency: The creation of sustainable AI systems that will facilitate climate resilience.

Democratising AI Resources: Making sure that data, compute, and the primary AI tools are fairly accessible.

AI as a solution to economic development and social good: AI can be used to increase productivity, innovation, and growth that is inclusive.

Top Global Tech Leaders and World Figures Expected to Attend

A host of global technology leaders and policymakers are slated to participate, highlighting the summit’s significance on the world stage:

  • Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google
  • Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI
  • Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia
  • Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic
  • DeepMind’s Demis Hassabis
  • Brad Smith, President of Microsoft
  • Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm
  • Börje Ekholm, CEO of Ericsson
  • In addition, 15–20 heads of government, over 50 international ministers, and more than 40 global and Indian CEOs are expected to attend.

Former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the UK and French President Emmanuel Macron have also been reported as speakers at curtain-raiser events.

Over 100 U.S. Firms to Join India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Largest Ever Delegation:

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 will feature more than 100 U.S. companies at the summit, whose presence will be spearheaded by the U.S. India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in what is projected to be the largest American industry presence ever in the event.

The Summit would be held in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, from February 16 to 20, 2026, in New Delhi.

USISPF has also declared the formation of an AI Board Task Force, led by John Chambers, as a way of empowering AI ecosystems, fast-tracking responsible deployment and maximising scale influence. It will consist of CEOs and technology leaders of large businesses in the U.S.A.

The delegation highlights increasing cooperation between India and the U.S on artificial intelligence, trusted technology environments, and future digital infrastructure.

    Why is it important?

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is becoming a widely recognised international event as an essential platform that will change the narrative of AI regulation and safety to the real-life world impact and its inclusion in use. As the champion of the Global South, the summit is expected to strike a balance in AI leadership around the world as AI authority is concentrated in China and the US. The event had a high level of involvement of governments, global leaders in technology, and other stakeholders in the industry. This indicates the increasing role of India in the process of determining how artificial intelligence delivers quantifiable social and economic value to the world. The following points emphasise why it matters:

  • Focuses more on the practical implementation of AI as opposed to theory, like in the past global AI summits.
  • Practices centred in the real world in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, education, energy and climate action.
  • Brings to light the application of AI at scale (to the population and specifically to the Global South).
  • Tackle major issues of access, affording AI, and inclusion.
  • Gathers policymakers, technology leaders, startups and researchers around the world.
  • Promotes multilateral coordination of trusted, ethical, and sustainable AI.
  • Focuses on shaping international AI policies, investment agendas, and international cooperation.
  • Enhances the increasing position of India in defining the future of artificial intelligence.
