Perplexity AI’s new $200/month subscription is for power users

The burgeoning AI-powered search engine Perplexity has once again become the hot topic with the launch of a new subscription plan named Perplexity Max. The premium plan is priced at $200 per month and is designed for power users who want unlimited access to the report generation tool called Labs.

Also, the power users with the Perplexity Max plan will get early access to upcoming features like the AI-powered browser from Perplexity, as well as the Comet.

Apart from early access to new features and unlimited access to Labs, the Perplexity Max subscribers will also get priority access to different services that consist latest frontier model. It includes Claude Opus 4 and OpenAI’s 03-pro. For the launch, the company has joined several other providers like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic to offer the hyper-premium subscription tier to their power users.

With the new subscription tiers, Perplexity has increased the number of paid plans that users can choose from according to their specific requirements.

The platform offers a Consumer Pro Plan for $20/month with an Enterprise Pro Plan for $40 per month per user. While the company generated a revenue of $34 million (mostly driven by the Pro Plan subscription tier), it had to burn $65 million in cash because of the high cloud server costs, along with buying access to different AI models.
