Google Partners with Australia’s National News Agency for Gemini AI

Google and the famous new agency, Australian Associated Press (AAP), have struck a deal to enhance the Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) platform. According to the deal, AAP will provide content to Gemini AI to improve the accuracy and quality of the responses.
The financial information of the deal is yet to be revealed by both firms. However, it has been confirmed that AAP will deliver the real-time information to the Google Gemini app.
Australian Associated Press is a 90-year-old institution, and has vowed to maintain its journalistic standards in the partnership. According to the collaboration, AAP will be providing content to Google Gemini, ensuring that it provides timely and accurate information.
The deal seems to be a part of a larger trend where technology giants are partnering with media organizations to enhance their natural language responses.
Nic Hopkins, Google’s head of news partnerships for Australia and New Zealand, states that the collaboration will help significantly to deliver real-time information while enhancing the responses in the Gemini app.
Following the trend, many other news organizations and generative AI companies have begun collaborating. For instance, the AFP news agency collaborated with Mistral to allow the startup’s new chatbot to use its news articles for response curation.
However, the new collaboration trend has also faced legal challenges due to concerns about unauthorized use of copyrighted information by AI platforms.
